about

The first solo album from Takahiro Kido, composer/member of Anoice.

This beautiful album which served as his first official release, was sold only in a book store in Tokyo one year before he debuted as the member of Anoice in 2006.

It was made by minimal use of musical instruments, mainly piano, violin, and organ, along with environmental sound recorded at hills, fields and caves, to focus on the stillness and the color of the sound of musical instruments. Each tune was created for the sound tracks to the novels of Ernest Hemingway and Motojiro Kajii etc. as well as some paintings by Bernard Buffet and Maurice Utrillo. Takahiro Kido's cherished opinion "stillness is not a sense which people can feel when they are in soundless environment" played a big part in the creation of this album.

This album contains one excellent tune "Franny," which was used on the soundtrack to the Japanese film "Honokaa-Boy."

For fans of French classical music such as Claude Debussy and Erik Satie, but also modern-classical music such as Max Richter and Jóhann Jóhannsson.
